Gasoline VS Wood Pellets
So if at $3.40 a gallon for gasoline which contains about 125,000 BTU per gallon and weighs around 7.3 pounds per gallon and takes up 0.134 cubic feet; and a bag of wood pellets contains about 350,000 BTU per bag that weighs 40# and takes up 1 cubic foot ________ why are we not running our cars on wood pellets???
In comparison one 40# bag of wood pellets, Has the energy of 2.8 gallons of gasoline, Costs just $1.43 per gallon, weighs just twice as much per gallon, and takes up 2.67 times the volume...
