I waited awhile to write this review so that I could thoroughly test this unit out. When I tell you that this amazing piece of art takes a 25x20 family room from 65 degrees to a very warm and cozy 76 degrees I could not believe it. My wife loves this heater, she sits on the sofa and studies in a room that was once unusable unless you spent an arm and leg with the thermostat.
I ordered the tapered XL 30x20 with the fireback add on. I wish I could have afforded the xxl 36x24 double grate. My fireplace used to be just ambiance. Now it is actually a functional source of heat that warms my entire down stairs which is about 1000sf. So if you are on the fence get off and order the largest unit your fireplace and budget can handle. You will save money in the long run. Hasty Heat is manufacturing a wonderful piece of equipment.
